Vision and Ethics in Our Small City
Thank you for supporting my Dacono City Council campaign. I am so excited to live in a city where my kids can play outside, where neighbors are friends, and people want to spend time together. I am blessed to live here.
I envision a Dacono where people want to live, dine, shop, and have fun. The most important role for a Dacono City Council member is to balance our small community feel with the need for a tax base and great small businesses. I want to ensure our community is served in the best possible way.
I stand for ethical Government, transparency, and communication. Corruption in the City of Dacono is unacceptable. This is a city we should be proud of, and I hope to bring us back to a positive reputation.
I am a Colorado Native. I was born and raised in Loveland, Colorado. My mom was a bookkeeper, and my dad was a Navy and Police Veteran who opened the Army Surplus store in Loveland. I spent my afternoons and summers working at my dad’s store and playing cards with our Vietnam Veterans.
I graduated with a Physiology and Biology Degree from the University of Colorado. I started my career at Health Care Policy and Financing for the State of Colorado. I went from State Government to Federal government with the US Administration on Aging. I’ve been in private consulting for five years and am a small business owner in the City of Dacono. I’ve spent 20 years serving children with Autism, older adults, persons with disabilities, and American Indian/Alaska Native Elders. My life has been dedicated to the caregivers of special populations and the supports that keep people living in their homes.
I married my best friend 15 years ago, and we brought our children to Dacono in 2017 so they could grow up in a small town as we both did. My awesome kids are 7 and 11, and we wanted them to experience a place where their summers are spent playing outside (in the wind), and we found it! They attend school in Dacono, play sports in Carbon Valley, participate in Scouts, and volunteer for opportunities in our community.
I am a true outdoors woman. I love camping, fishing, hiking, snowshoeing, and archery. I'm learning to garden, and as much as I love it, I have much to learn. I love to play tennis and swim with my kids.
As a family, we are ingrained in this community. We serve Dacono, the PTSA, as coaches, and more. You may have met us at Homyak Elementary, at the Carbon Valley Rec Center, shopping at Esh, or enjoying the restaurants in Dacono. It’s also possible we chatted at our Halloween Celebration.
I cannot imagine living anywhere else! I am a person who writes rules and follows them. I’ve been trusted with the lives and oversight of our most vulnerable populations. I will do the same for Dacono!
